2022 Retail Food Protection Seminar Registration Open

Registration is open for the 2022 Retail Food Protection Seminar which will be held September 19-22. This year’s free, virtual seminar will focus on norovirus including assessing employee health, investigating norovirus-related foodborne illnesses, and implementing successful employee health intervention strategies.

The annual seminar provides an opportunity for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and state, local, tribal, and territorial regulators to discuss current and emerging issues related to retail food safety. This event is open to all interested in retail food safety, including all state, local, territorial, and tribal regulators, standardized officers, industry, and academia.

The Seminar will consist of general sessions for all attendees, regional break-out sessions, and a risk factor study workshop. The workshop will focus on designing and conducting a risk factor study and cover requirements for Standard 9 of the Voluntary National Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards. The workshop aims to help participants understand different study designs and the FDA’s data collection approach, as well as provide an overview of how to conduct data collection and a demonstration of the use of the FDA’s Risk Factor Study Database.
