AFDO Healthy People 2030 Norovirus Workgroup’s Norovirus Communication Tools Discussion Groups

How do you encourage retail food workers to stay home when they are sick? Join an upcoming virtual discussion group with other retail food safety regulators and industry professionals to share your insights on and experiences with Norovirus communication tools. This discussion will be hosted by the AFDO Healthy People 2030 Norovirus Workgroup along with other retail food safety regulators and industry professionals. Your voice is imperative to help this workgroup understand and address the gaps that exist in employee health communication for the mitigation of norovirus at the retail level.

Participants will discuss how to overcome barriers that prevent employees from staying home when they are ill and effective health communication tools, especially materials or tools that communicate the importance of staying home if food handlers are ill.

Two separate discussion groups will be held:

  • Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:00 AM-12:00 PM ET
  • Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 2:00 PM-3:00 PM ET

The feedback from these discussion groups will be used to create a comprehensive employee health toolkit for industry and regulators to engage their employees.
