2024 Retail Food Protection Seminars
The 2024 Retail Food Protection Seminars will be held this fall in partnership with state regulatory and food safety associations partners from around the country. This year’s seminars will be held in:
- Chicago, Illinois: September 11-13, 2024. Visit the Illinois Environmental Health Association’s website to learn more and register.
- Sacramento, California: September 25-27, 2024 Visit the Western Association of Food and Drug Officials’ website to learn more and register.
- Jacksonville, Florida: October 22-25, 2024 Visit the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association’s website to learn more and register.
- Burlington, Vermont: November 13-15, 2024 Visit the Northeast Food and Drug Officials Association’s website to learn more and register.
Retail food program managers, standardization officers, regulators, academia, and industry are encouraged to attend to learn about current and emerging food safety initiatives and network with other food safety partners.
The Retail Food Protection Seminars are organized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Office of State Cooperative Programs, Division of Retail Food Protection.

Is there someone who can provide details needed for an agency travel request? Our agency has very strict travel request deadlines, and we’re running up against them. In order to submit our travel requests, we need:
1. Have a link to registration/somehow to register for the meeting
2. A draft agenda of what will occur at the meeting (a very rough, simple draft is fine)
3. The hotels for the meeting
If we don’t get these within the next 1.5 weeks, we will not be able to attend and co-present at the seminars we’re supposed to in Vermont, Jacksonville, and Sacramento.

Thank you for getting in touch. The agendas will be different at each seminar. To get a better feel for what the event will entail, I suggest visiting the website of the event you are considering attending. Many of the host associations have provided much more detail on their websites.
