New Training: Foodborne Outbreak Investigation Series

The Foodborne Outbreak Investigation Online Series (FOIS) promotes a multidisciplinary approach to investigating foodborne disease outbreaks. This online, self-paced training aims to help public health professionals and other involved personnel enhance their skills in rapidly identifying, investigating, and controlling foodborne disease outbreaks. The FOIS is offered for free from the Tennessee Food Safety Center of Excellence.

The FOIS curriculum consists of 7 standalone courses that each take 3-4 hours to complete. The courses are suitable for either introductory training or refresher training for more experienced staff. FOIS courses can be completed as a team or independently.  All FOIS courses are available in both English and Spanish.

Each course offers a certificate of completion and continuing education credits through the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Visit the Integrated Food Safety Centers of Excellence website to learn more and access the courses.
