Podcast Explores the SAVA Online Course

A new podcast dives into the online, self-guided Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards Self-assessment and Verification Audit (SAVA) Course Series. This short (16-minute) podcast, produced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Office of Regulatory Affairs, explores how the FDA collaborated with the National Environmental Health Association and a local partner from Georgia to create these training programs. Listeners will also come away with an overview of the Voluntary National Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards and information about enrollment.

The Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards SAVA Course Series for free to state, local, tribal, and territorial partners currently enrolled or interested in enrolling in the Voluntary National Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards, and for those desiring to perform self-assessments or verification audits of their own programs.

The courses are available online, on-demand, and can be completed at the user’s own pace. Register through the FDA’s ORAU LearnED system.
