Once the new Food Code is adopted, you’ll need to be prepared to implement it in your jurisdiction. Learn more about how to make sure all impacted communities, including industry member, regulatory staff, and the public are informed and prepared.
Develop an enforcement and compliance plan and timeline
- Seek support from FDA Retail Food Specialists to identify training and answer questions.
- Determine when the industry will be expected to comply.
- Include industry members in the process to come to an agreed-upon timeline.
Create a training plan for regulatory staff
Help your staff understand and interpret the Food Code, provide accurate guidance, and be able to explain changes.
Inform your community
Work with your communications department or division to help develop messages for the public including press releases, social media, or news articles.
