Retail Food Risk Factor Study

In 2013, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration National Retail Food Team initiated a new, 10-year study to measure the occurrence of practices and behaviors commonly identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as contributing factors in foodborne illness outbreaks. The released 2015-2016 Occurrence Report includes not only findings from these years of data gathering but additional resources such as a factsheet and calls to action for regulators and industry.

Previous years of data and findings are also available as well as information about future studies, presentations, and resources related to retail food protection.
